About the Band
27strings is a fresh and energetic bluegrass band known for its strong vocals, great harmonies, and fast-paced fiddle tunes. Heavily influenced by bluegrass originals (Bill Monroe, Jimmy Martin, Hazel Dickens) as well as contemporary performers (The Infamous Stringdusters, The Steeldrivers, Ricky Skaggs), 27strings does justice to a variety of songs and tunes.
Originally formed in 2009, 27strings has performed throughout the Bay Area at farmers’ markets, cafes, bluegrass festivals and private parties. Changes in early 2011 brought the band new talent on fiddle and bass, as well as six new strings in the form of another gifted guitar player. The new line-up continues the tradition of infectious fun and energy that distinguishes 27strings performances.
